If you’re going to be in Calgary this October, then celebrating Halloween is a must. From spooky ghost tours to family-friendly pumpkin patches, there are so many different ways to spend Halloween 2020. Keep reading to discover our top three ways to celebrate Halloween in Calgary.
Pumpkin Palooza at Cobb’s Corn Maze
Cobb’s Corn Maze and Family Fun Park is open for yet another festive season. Their annual Pumpkin Palooza event is taking place every Saturday and Sunday in October, including the Halloween weekend (October 31 and November 1). This year’s Pumpkin Palooza allows families to walk through a pumpkin patch, pick their own pumpkins, and make their way through a corn maze. There will also be princesses on-site for the littles one to take pictures with. And as always, costumes are encouraged!
Calgary Ghost Walks
Prepare to be scared on a Calgary Ghost Walk this Halloween. Learn all about the haunted history of our city on one of three tours taking place in the Calgary area. There is a Downtown tour, an Inglewood tour, and a Kensington tour. Each one will include plenty of local ghost stories and legends, and all tour guides will be dressed in costume. In Inglewood, you’ll learn about the early days of Calgary and the Northwest Mounted Police. Downtown, expect to visit Firehouse 1 and the Chamber of Commerce Building. Finally, in Kensington, you’ll learn all about doppelgangers and the history of a local memorial garden. Tours are available on Fridays and Saturdays up until October 31.
Monster March 2020
Give back to your community while celebrating Halloween with Calgary’s Monster March 2020. The Monster March is an annual fundraising event that supports the Children’s Cottage Society. This Halloween walk invites kids of all ages to dress up in their Halloween costume and explore Calgary on foot. Be sure to log your walk through the Monster March 2020 Strava Club to be entered to win the grand prize (an ice cream party at Village Ice Cream!).
